Road and Trail Running Events in Western North Carolina
COLD MOUNTAIN 50K AND 25K
The Cold Mountain 50k and 25k is Haywood County NC's very FIRST trail race that spans a remote section of Pisgah National Forest and the Cold Mountain Game Lands. The course climbs high above Lake Logan and traverses Lickstone Ridge, crossing high mountain creeks that originate in the headwaters along the Blue Ridge Parkway, then descends to the West Fork of the Pigeon River bordering Shining Rock Wilderness and Middle Prong Wilderness. The race will begin and end at Sunburst Campground with a bonfire and hot soup for all runners.

STILLWATER ULTRAS
Stillwater Ultras are timed, endurance style loop races with a 3hr, 6hr, 12hr, and 24hr option. The races take place on a 1.5 mile loop on the Lake Logan Retreat property in Canton, NC. The loop consists of grass, gravel, single track trail, and a very small section of pavement. The start/finish line will be in a large field (tent city). There will be 1 aid station provided. Runners will have a designated area at the start/finish to set up their own canopies, chairs, and personal aid supplies as well. Cabins, bunks, and campsites are available within walking distance of the start/finish area for an extra charge. If you are looking for a distance PR or just a fun day with the running community this will be the race for you! Run or walk as much, or as little as you want in your alotted time.
